WHO WE HELP

We’re here for everyone, but especially for those who feel excluded from being able to get financial understanding they need.

Whether you’re a young person starting out, an employed or self-employed person, a business owner, or someone rebuilding after financial challenges, we’re here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

We also want to support unemployed people looking for work, those who have been made redundant and those entering retirement who would like a side hustle of running their own business.

The Approach

Our coaching is independent, non-judgmental, and community-driven. Every conversation is focused on your situation, your goals, and your next steps.

The Community will benefit by gaining improved access to business support, advice and resources that will improve employability of individuals and create opportunities to enhance personal skills.

We aim to create stronger connections, increased collaboration and projects that directly help and support local needs. We are focussed on unemployed, employed, self-employed and local businesses.

Our mission for the wider community is to promote financial literacy, offering workshops and webinars to explain financial aspects of life. This is a service which will be accessible to all.

Outline of The CIC

Our Community Interest Company will provide accessible , practical and empowering financial coaching and mentoring to local businesses, self-employed individuals and those who are currently unemployed. We aim to build financial confidence around running a business, reduce financial exclusion and support economic wellbeing in our community. Our focus will be on local businesses, self-employed or those considering self-employment, unemployed and the wider community.

Local Businesses, we will look to enhance their understanding of the financial impact on their business, looking for ways to improve profitability and control costs and to plan for a sustainable future.

For self employed, we will be running courses to help individuals understand the responsibilities of being self employed. Explaining tax responsibilities, navigating budgeting and income management.

For unemployed, looking for opportunities for access into employment or self-employment. Helping candidates build a CV, apply for jobs and interview preparation.

The wider community, we intend to promote financial literacy, offering workshops and webinars to explain financial aspects of running your own business.

We have recognised through our professional careers as accountants that often businesses/ individuals need access to such services but are often unable to get the coaching and training needed due to affordability. Businesses have failed because owners haven't understood or got to grips with basic fundamentals of running their own business. We believe that with some basic financial awareness, small businesses in the area could enjoy economic growth. We want our services to be available through funding. We want to offer financial support and advice without exclusion.

Benefits

Our aims are to improve financial knowledge of business owners and self-employed people. Offering tools such as how to manage income and expenses, which will help reduce debt and help plan for the future. We want to offer support to those moving from unemployed to employed or self-employed.

We want to access relevant services including funding, local grants and job readiness resources to help our community. We are non-judgmental and inclusive service.

We aim to support small businesses and individuals with financial skills and guidance. This will strengthen our local economy. We also want to encourage and support people looking for employment and self-employment.

We have already and will continue to collaborate with other local partners to ensure support that tackles financial exclusion. We aim to build a network and will be able to signpost to other services already available. We want to build a stronger community.

We believe that currently there is a need for additional financial knowledge around running your own business and being self-employed.

Our mission is to offer this service and make this an accessible service to all.
